HME is a privately held electronics manufacturing company located in Poway, California. Incorporated in 1971, HME develops, manufactures, markets and services our products in over 80 countries worldwide. HME's core business at our founding was the professional audio market with wireless technology. Today, and for over three decades, HME continues to be a leader in the pro audio industry with the professional wireless intercoms.

HME’s first product was the professional wireless microphone which quickly became the standard in the entertainment industry. We followed that successful launch with our full-duplex VHF System 150 Wireless Intercom in 1979, which found a ready audience among broadcast and entertainment professionals. This product received worldwide acclaim as the first choice for professional audio applications.

In the mid 1980s, HME added Professional Cabled Intercoms (700 Series), Mixers, Microphones, and Power Amplifiers to our mix.

In the early 1990s, HME developed the UHF System 800 Wireless Intercom which quickly became the industry standard, and thousands of installations followed.

In 2003, HME introduced the next generation synthesized UHF PRO850 Wireless Intercom. The PRO850 is, without question, the best performing professional wireless intercom available today, with performance, features, and sound quality second to none.

In 2004, HME introduced a second new intercom to our pro audio line – the 2.4GHz DX200 Digital Wireless Intercom. The DX200 is a high-performing, license-free system with great features that won’t cost you an arm and a leg.

Our long list of successes includes many patents for wireless communication systems. Our commitment to innovation, initiated by company founder Harrison Miyahira, continues today as HME develops new products for the Professional Audio and related communications markets.
